๐Ÿ’ก Notice on Prohibition of E-Cigarette Entry in Key Destinations Due to Enhanced Regulations Hits 908

Due to the strengthening of local regulations concerning the import, possession, use, purchase, sale, distribution, and storage of e-cigarettes in major Southeast Asian countries (Vietnam, Myanmar, Singapore) and Hong Kong, cases of Korean nationals entering these countries being caught and indicted for violating local laws are continuously occurring.


Passengers visiting these countries are strongly requested to cooperate with the prohibition of e-cigarette entry to prevent any resulting harm due to the violation of local laws.



โ–ถ Vietnam


Vietnam has implemented the policy on using e-cigarettes (including production, sale, import, transport, and storage) and imposing fines for use. (Effective from December 31, 2025)

*Article 26, Paragraph 1: A fine of 3~5 million VND will be imposed for using e-cigarettes.


โ–ถ Hongkong


The law has been implemented that considers the possession by a passenger of all electronic and heated tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, cartridges, and liquids, as importation.

Regardless of the purpose of personal use, and subjects it to punishment. (effective from April 30, 2026)

โ—‹ Upon detection of illegal import/entry, the offender is subject to criminal penalties such as high fines and imprisonment (Possession by passenger is also considered importation). Maximum fine could be 2 million HKD and 7 years of imprisonment.

โ—‹ Regular cigarettes must be carried only within 19 sticks, and any excess quantity must be declared to Customs. Undeclare could be results in a fine of 5,000 HKD, in addition to separate fines per excess stick.

โ—‹ Possession of cigarettes and substitutes in public places is prohibited, and smoking is only permitted in clearly designated smoking areas. Violations are subject to a fine of 3,000 HKD and criminal penalties.
